Argh! Website issues.
Twice in the past month this site has encountered critical issues.
And no one let me know.
Most of it has to do with the relationship between my hosting company and WordPress.
The first time I ran up against this was a couple of months back and it cost me some $$$ to get it fixed.
You know, the old tech support wallet wrangle. And they didn’t tell me that the fee they charged was actually a monthly subscription. I cancelled after they notified me of such.
It seems everything is a flipping subscription with an app.
The second time the site encountered critical errors I did a little digging on the internet and found a reddit thread. In the thread, it was suggested to not use my hosting company. Instead, the suggestion was to use ChatGPT and DIY.
Which is what I did. And I got the initial issue worked out.
Then my host updated my php to a version not compatible with certain plugins I use.
And no one let me know.
I found out while putting a proposal together. Yikes.
So, I went back to ChatGPT and got the issue resolved in about an hour.
But, I had to rebuild all my image galleries because the original plugin was problematic.
Sigh, as you can see, we’re back up. And it didn’t cost me a thing outside of a little time.
