Staring at the very real possibility of living in a cardboard condo with Cucuy is a frightening prospect.
We all know what she does to boxes.
I realize that so many of my tribe are facing similar circumstance, sans the Beak. And no one is going to bail us out, so we gotta pool our energy into some sort of action. (I’m too old and fat to be of any use at the barricades.)
Here’s the deal:
I wanna do a thing based on the photo above. But with a twist.
Follow the directions, please. <— Read it again.
Email (email@example.com) or message me the following:
• A short story about you. Tell me something personal about you that will endear me further.
It can be funny, a memory, something heroic, touching, punk as fuck, secretly spiritual, something you refuse to eat, things you family won’t let you live down, etc.
(True story: I used to take my diapers off and paint the walls with my shit.)
• Give me a link to your website, product page, shop. You must have something affordable that folks can purchase ONLINE.
• Include a product description, i.e., “The Stinker,” acrylic on canvas, 11 x 17 inches, framed. Or, “The Stinker,” music download. And so on…
• Send me a photo of one of your “products.” Is it a book? Send a photo of the cover. Got prints? Send an image. Musician? Send the album/disc cover. You get the idea.
What I will do is share your info in my email newsletter (once a week), and my social media and I’ll pop the info up on my blog. Maybe, together, we can generate some momentum to ease the pain of this current cluster-fuck.
What say you?
If you want to be seen in the Monday/Tuesday newsletter, get your info in no later than the Friday before.
Hey Terri, I don’t have a website but I can do venmo or paypal will that work?
GREAT! Send me the appropriate info and a photo of the work you offer and perhaps your facebook page so others can see what you’re doing.
Hey Terri, what do you mean by your tribe or community?
Thanks for asking. By the use of tribe or community, I’m address those creative folks who are adversely affected by the covid-19 lock down. I’m talking about people I actually know in real life and those who I have only met online or via social media. This is about a collective we.
What do you mean by affordable art?
Anything under $5K. Let me make it clear, I’m not asking you to discount your work.
Can I share the newsletter or your posts with my social media/audience?
Of course! The more we share, the better it is for all of us.
Who is Cucuy?
The macaw that rules my roost.
